The story behind Lumera Ritual

About Lumera Ritual

Custom glass keepsakes for the places, homes, and lives that stay with us.

Our reason for making

Lumera Ritual began with a simple wish: let a photograph feel present in the room, not stored away in a camera roll.

The studio

Made by people who understand why one ordinary photograph can mean everything.

Lumera Ritual turns meaningful photographs into custom round glass suncatchers for the people, pets, places, and days you want to keep close.

A memory, translated for the window

Our most requested subjects include dogs, cats, birds, wedding and family portraits, first homes, childhood homes, hometown streets, landscapes, and landmarks. Each commission begins with your photograph and the details that make it yours.

You approve the artwork first

After checkout, our design team translates your reference image into stained-glass-inspired artwork shaped for a round composition. A digital preview is normally sent within 2–3 business days. Production begins only after you approve the design.

Our actual material and print process

Each finished piece is a single round glass panel with a full-color, layered UV-cured print, fitted into a black metal outer frame and supplied with a hanging chain. The printing can show fine pigment grain, shallow tactile relief, and localized glossy contours when viewed up close.

These pieces are not traditional stained glass assembled from individually cut glass segments and soldered lead lines. They are also not acrylic or resin. Sunlight and bright indoor light make the printed color, gloss, and glass surface more visible, but rainbow projections are not guaranteed.

Made for gifting and remembering

A custom Lumera Ritual piece can mark a wedding, memorialize a companion, celebrate a new home, or preserve a place that still feels like yours. Explore custom glass commissions, read how the custom process works, or contact us with a photograph or question.

Talk to the studio

A studio case

One photograph. Four honest views.

Our own studio cat is used here so the full path can be shown with permission: the original photograph, the finished window piece, the raised UV-print detail, and the protective presentation.

Before it leaves the studio

Made personal. Packed with equal care.

After approval and production, each piece is inspected in normal room light and at the window. The chain is kept separate from the glass, and the piece is protected for tracked transit.

01

Meaning before object

Every piece begins with a real photograph and a real story: a companion, a wedding day, a family home, or a place that changed a life.

02

Honesty before production

You see and approve the design before we make it. We explain the material clearly and never disguise printed glass as traditional leaded mosaic work.

03

Light as part of the artwork

The image is only half the piece. Daylight, viewing angle, and the subtly raised UV print reveal different details throughout the day without artificial rainbow effects.
